Instant Memories
Everyone regards polaroid images as old, some view them as artsy, but all view them as non-existant anymore. Ace Hotel has recently started giving all its guests refurbished polaroid cameras for their stay. I have a polaroid camera but I am having the hardest time finding film for it, no places carry it and a lot of the online places dont have it available. I think polaroids are the original version of "mobile uploads" Everyone has an album of mobile uploads on whatever social media site they use, myself included, but I feel like polaroids are so much nicer. During the Impposible Project (a project which is working to revive the art of polaroid) guests can submit their photos to be part of the hotels 2012 exhibit "24 hours at the Ace"

Gloria Gonzalez
I was just cruising around on core77.com when I came across this awesome image of a dancer combined with a splash of coke. I have a personal gravitation towards commercial art, so it really grabbed my eye. Print design and print ads have always interested me and I thought this particular image was eye catching and made me associate fun, dancing, smiling, and parties with the brand coke. I went on to learn that she has 7 years of experience in the field and has been published twice in advanced photoshop magazine. She is proficient in photoshop and has even written tutorials. I think ad work is some of the hardest work, because you have to make it relate to everyone and I think that Gonzalez hit the nail on the head with this one.

Foam
Im always attracted to places that look nice and make me feel welcome or cool. Holiday Inn recently had their lobby re-modeled by continuum (an innovation consulting design agency) and ai3. While the lobby of course looks lovely, designed very neat and mature, the important part is how the lobby was designed. Continuum took a warehouse and recontructed the entire lobby totally out of foam. I think that is one of the most efficient ways to design as well as one of the most interesting ways. However Id have to say its not that environmentally safe seeing as foam is not usually biodegradable-though technology is getting there. Once there is a more environmentally sound substance used I think this would be a great way to design all spaces.
